Ádh mór ar ár gceoltóirí iontacha inniu. Best wishes to our county champion music group who are back on stage this afternoon at the Ulster semi-final of Scór na nÓg in Cill Shléibhe. 09/11/25:
As if there was any doubt....
Tá seaimpíní contae againn sa chlub. We have new county champions in the club!
Comhghairdeas leis an ghrúpa ceoil atá i ndiaidh Craobh Chontae a bhaint sa cheol uirlise ag Scór na nÓg Ard Mhacha inniu. A huge congratulations to our instrumental group who have just been crowned Armagh county champions at this afternoon’s Scór na nÓg. Maith sibh. Tá muid an-bhródúil agaibh.
Seán Treacy was murdered on this day in 1920. When our club was formed in 1973, it was decided to name it after the Irish patriot, who was born in Soloheadbeg and brought up in Hollyford in County Tipperary.
Mharaigh fórsaí Shasana Seán Ó Treasaigh agus gan ach 25 bliain slánaithe aige. Seán Treacy was a republican leader during the War of Independence and he was murdered by British forces at 94 Talbot Street at just 25 years of age. He was a member of Conradh na Gaeilge (the Gaelic League), Bráithreachas Phoblacht na hÉireann (the Irish Republican Brotherhood) and Óglaigh na hÉireann (the Irish Volunteers).
Just like any other year when Tiobraid Árann reach the All-Ireland final, hundreds of Tipp fans gathered this year on All-Ireland final day in Talbot Street in Dublin to commemorate Seán Treacy, one of Tipperary’s foremost patriots. A plaque in Talbot Street marks the spot where Seán Treacy was gunned down on 14 October 1920.
