Seán was keeping track of the action for us last night. Massive thanks as always for the below report.

The senior hurlers were on the road last night, making the long turas (journey) to An Ómaigh (Omagh) to play St Enda’s at Healy Park.

The hosts got off to a great start with 1-4 in the opening ten minutes with Tam McKavanagh getting a cúilín (point) during that period. Anthony Carville added a second for the Treacys followed up by a long range free from Kane Laverty and a free for Carville. After the well-needed sos uisce (water break), Seán Treacys played some of their best hurling with two good scores from Tam McKavanagh kickstarting a period of dominance. Ryan Stewart and Caolán Maher chipped in with a couple of scores before the foireann baile (home team) regained their composure and hit two of their own. Reece Magee pulled it back to just two between the teams going into am gortuithe (injury time) but the hosts rattled the net just before the short whistle to leave the score 0-9 to 2-8 at leath ama (half time).

Conor Carabine opened the second half scoring having won the ball from the caitheamh isteach (throw-in) and sending the ball over the bar. However, Omagh laid down a marker with four cúilíní (points) in a couple of minutes. Ryan Stewart got one back for the Treacys but a further 1-2 left the visitors with a huge task. A converted free from Anthony Carville was followed up by dhá chúl (two goals), the first a cool finish from Reece Magee and the second a great touch from Fionntán Coleman. The bearna (gap) was down to five but Omagh managed to hold that lead in the last 15 minutes with points traded, Sean Treacys iarrachtaí (efforts) from Anthony Carville with two frees and one each ón imirt (from play) for Kane Laverty and Tam McKavanagh.  Omagh pushed on for the win in time-added on and their three late scores left the scór deiridh (final score) 2-16 to 3-21.
