Thankfully, Seán was back on duty for last night's game. Thanks as ever for the write-up.

It was another oíche dheacair (tough evening) for our senior hurlers as they made their way to Camloch to take on Craobh Rua in the McCormack Shield final last night. With a number of imreoirí (players) still out injured and a couple of others unavailable, numbers were tight.

Seán Treacys opened the scoring through Anthony Carville, but it wasn’t long before the foireann baile (home team) set out their stall. An early goal was followed by 4 quick scores before the cuairteoirí (visitors) got their next scores from frees through Carville and Cian O'Sullivan. Craobh Rua again stamped their authority with a further 1-6 before a great score from Harry Mulholland. Unfortunately cúl báire (goalkeeper) Decky Maher picked up a gortú (injury) and Craobh Rua picked up their third goal.

Having had to leave the play himself earlier in the first half through a gortú, Barry McDonald stepped up to go into goals for the second period. Again Craobh Rua dominated proceedings across the field especially on the scoring front. Further scores from Anthony Carville (0-3) and one apiece for Cian O'Sullivan and Reece Magee, who made a welcome return after his recent bainis (wedding). Craobh Rua ran out convincing winners and were presented with the sciath (shield) by Mickey Savage from CLG Ard Mhacha. Comhghairdeas leo.
