The visitors proved too strong for Sean Treacys racking up a 5-20 to 0-15 victory. The visitors got the first score of the game which was cancelled out by an effort from Tam McKavanagh. However, the cuairteoirí (visitors) hit 1-3 to push them ahead. Anthony Carville got a couple of scores from the dead ball before 4 consecutive scores from Eoghan Ruadh increased the bearna (margin). Scores from Carville and McKavanagh either side of a Dungannon effort kept the hosts in touch, but a second cúl (goal) and two further points left a big task for the Treacys’ side. The hosts finished the half strong though, with a pointed free from Carville and a point from play apiece from Joe McAnerney and Neil Corey to leave the score 0-8 to 2-11 at the sos (break).
Anthony Carville hit the first three scores of the half to reduce the gap to 6. An Eoghan Ruadh point was cancelled out by a good score from Harry Mulholland who doubled up, having played in the North Armagh U18 bua (win) over Setanta just before the senior game. Dungannon found their rhythm again and hit 2-7 over the next 15 minutes, with Tam McKavanagh getting the Treacys’ sole point in the middle of that spell. A further 0-2 for Anthony Carville either side of 1-1 for Dún Geanainn completed the scoring for the home side.
Go raibh míle maith agaibh to Eoghan Ruadh for the game today, to the réiteoir (referee) and to our volunteer linesperson and umpires who had just played a full game beforehand. Comhghairdeas to those who made their senior debut fosta (as well).
Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí (Praise the youth and they will flourish).
