We are delighted to announce that after years of quiet planning and scrupulous fundraising, Sean Treacys hurling club is finally getting a home! Final permissions have been granted for a revolutionary new type of stadium built entirely of recycled materials, anchored just off Kinnego Marina at Oxford Island. With enough flags on the roof, we will be able to utilise natural wind power to take the stadium anywhere on the Lough, providing an option to use it as an away venue, or as a neutral ground for Provincial matches, adding long-term financial sustainability to the project. As we travel, we will be able to collect the blue /green algae which will provide an excellent playing surface. Senior team manager Mark Magee is excited about the possibility of having players row the stadium into place as part of a pre-game warm up as well as punishing any underperformers by making them swim out to collect any wayward Sliotars. Naming rights are still to be decided, but with an opportunity like this, the bidding process is sure to be interesting! Details on season ticket options will be announced shortly. Stay tuned!
